Southern California Small Ruminant Famacha Workshop

Join our UCCE Imperial, Riverside and San Bernardino Livestock Advisor, Brooke Latack and Dr. Rosie Busch, Sheep and Goat Herd Health and Production Specialist, UC Davis on Nov. 15th from 6pm - 8pm (PST) for the Southern California Small Ruminant Workshop on FAMACHA (certification available for a $15.00 fee) and internal parasite management for sheep and goats.

Harvesting Okra at the Coachella Valley Agricultural Research Station

ATTENTION...

The UCCE Riverside County office is looking for volunteer's for the upcoming harvesting of okra. 

This learning experience offers the following opportunities for participants; the harvesting times and practices for okra, management of pests and diseases, as well as the nutrient and water management aspects in okra. The best part is you have fun and get to take home everything you harvest that day. 

The event will be held from 7:00 am - 9:00 am over the course of the next three Friday's;

October 25th, November 1st & November 8th

Things to consider...

  • Volunteers are required to meet with the Volunteer Coordinator/Advisor in-person for a short orientation before volunteering.

  • Volunteers must wear clothing that covers their legs and closed-toed shoes.
  • Gloves and Refreshments are provided.

--UPDATED-- November 2024 Growers & PCA Meeting at UCCE Imperial County

Join two of UCCE Imperial County extension adviser's, Ana Pastrana (Plant Pathologist and Arun Babu (Entomologist) as they host a series of monthly meetings designed to provide PCA's and growers the latest research education, local AG updates and networking opportunities.

This month's meeting will cover onion downy mildew; current management strategies and new fungicide evaluations in Imperial Valley desert conditions and the sweetpotato whitefly; recent restrictions on insecticide and current status of whitefly popultaion dynamics in Imperial Valley.
