Britta is CA-Grown, having been born and raised in Sacramento. After studying Agroecology at UC Berkeley, Britta went on to do farming apprenticeships on several farms in Northern CA. In addition, she has professional experience in nurseries, gardens, CSAs, markets, and landscaping. Her experience ranges from small-scale homesteading to commercial vegetable and livestock production, processing, marketing, and distribution. Most recently, she served as the Program Coordinator for the School of Adaptive Agriculture, a vocational adult school near Willits that is dedicated to training the next generation of farmers.
As the Community Education Specialist for UCCE-Mendocino, Britta assists Northcoast farmers and ranchers with the California Department of Food and Agriculture's (CDFA) Climate-Smart Ag Programs, specifically the Statewide Water Efficiency Enhancement Program (SWEEP) and the Healthy Soils Program (HSP). https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/oefi/
